You've Been Asking-- So Here are the Answers to a Few of the Frequently Asked Questions About -1-800-We-Insure

What is 1-800-We-Insure? 
1-800-We-Insure is a new service exclusively for Trusted Choice® that connects consumers with local Trusted Choice® independent insurance agents. Consumers who dial the phone number will be asked for zip code information and, based on predetermined call criteria, will be forwarded to an agency in queue.  This is more than static leads data—this service will send consumer phone calls directly to your agency.


Who can participate in 1-800-We-Insure?
This program is exclusive to Trusted Choice® members only.


How many people will be included in a zip code? 
When a consumer dials 1-800-We-Insure, they receive the names of up to four Trusted Choice® agencies in the zip code where they  desire insurance coverage.  As a Trusted Choice® agency, you may subscribe to as many zip codes as you want.  Your agency will be included in the list presented to the consumer in round robin fashion based on alphabetic order with priority to agencies physically located in the consumer’s zip code.  For a more technical overview of the process, please see the call protocol diagram. 

What does it cost?
The subscription fee is $10 per zip code per month plus four cents a minute for incoming calls billed in six second increments.  A 90 second phone call will cost six cents.  You can subscribe to as many zip codes as you want.  If there are no subscribing agencies in your surrounding area, your agency may be presented to consumers in zip codes you do not subscribe to, depending on your agency’s distance to their desired coverage area.  By subscribing early, your agency has the best opportunity to initially cover the widest area.

Do I have to change my phone number?
No, you don't have to change your local number. You can choose to use both your existing number and promote 1-800-We-Insure as an easy number for existing customers to remember. Customers can just ask for your agency by name when they call 1-800-We Insure.  The national and state associations, along with company partners, will market the new number. We created more than 208,562,000 consumer impressions in 2008 and we expect to surpass that in 2010. 

How often will I get a call?
When a consumer calls 1-800-We-Insure, they enter a zip code and a voice reads off four nearby agencies based on a cycling call criteria so that each agency takes turns in position number one, two, three, and four. The customer then chooses which agency they want to contact.  The more you promote 1-800-We-Insure and Trusted Choice® in your area, the more phone calls you will receive.
