About us
Cashiers Insurance Agency was founded in 1973 by Harry C. Babb, after his many years of working with Metropolitan Life Insurance C. and being a multiple "Million Dollar Roundtable" recipient. After moving to Cashiers, NC in 1969 Harry established Cashiers Insurance Agency upon seeing a need in the community for his services. As the agency grew, so did the team, with his son Michael coming on board in 1977, his daughter Deborah in 1979, and daughter Carla in 1981. Harry was also the founder and first President of the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as working with community projects such as the fund raising for the new Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, Cashiers Day Care and numerous other projects over the years. Harry retired and sold the agency to his children in 2002. In February 2006, Harry passed away and is dearly missed by his family and community members. His integrity, honesty and faith are continued on by his children and the agency.
