Fitzmaurice-Garvin Insurance Agency was founded in 1946 by the late Jack Fitzmaurice. In keeping with family tradition, daughter Trina Garvin joined the agency in 1989 after graduating from Drake University, where she majored in insurance. Trina has experience in all aspects of the agency, with her primary focus in life and health group benefits. Her husband, Dave Kaplan, joined the agency in 2004, after retiring as a detective from the Traverse City Police Department. Dave has fostered his dedication to the insurance industry by obtaining his CIC designation and continuing education through Risk Management courses. Third generation, Tanner Kaplan, obtained his Bachelor of Science in Communications at the College of Wooster where he played Division 3 baseball. After two summer internships with Auto-Owners Insurance, Tanner is excited to incorporate his leadership skills that he learned on and off the field into the family business.
Please feel free to ask our agency about our exclusive program with the Michigan State Medical Society through Hanover Citizens Insurance. This program, available only through our agency, provides extremely deviated rates for Physician's Offices on their Worker's Compensation Policies.
