You’ve seen the television shows and the excessive social media posts—some people are really racking up savings by using coupons when shopping. But while manufacturers and stores create coupons to provide discounts to consumers, some consumers are finding that the “savings” aren’t adding up.

According to a survey from NCH Marketing Services, “the top answer given by consumers who said they were using fewer coupons is simply this: ‘I can’t find coupons for the products I want to buy.’ Another reason consumers bypass coupons? Many require buying two or more items in order to get a discount. Finally, some consumers don’t believe the products available or the time spent clipping coupons is worth the effort.
