There is no shortage of ways U.S. military members, veterans and even their spouses can save on the purchase of cars. Whether you are fresh off your last deployment and need a new set of wheels, or you just finished basic training and want a new ride, there's a way to save. Eligibility differs among the makers, so check your status to see if you qualify for some of these sweet military car deals.

But first, you should consider military car insurance.

Dealers Who Appreciate Your Service

Some carmakers are doing more than just offering those yellow magnetic ribbons to stick to cars. The following automobile manufacturers offer discounts to current and former members of the armed services.

Audi

The Audi Military Sales Program provides a VIP experience to its military customers, from dealership to delivery. The program provides 100 percent price protection, 100 percent satisfaction at delivery or your money refunded, and special military pricing that can save buyers thousands of dollars. The Overseas Military Sales Corporation operates this program.

Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge

This carmaker offers a $500 cash allowance, as well as lube, oil and filter service for up to three years as part of its military car deals. The $500 cash allowance and service covers new Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles (excludes Sprinter, Viper and all SRT models) and is extended to all qualified military personnel.

Ford Military Sales

Ford Motor Company rewards commitment to our country through its exclusive Military Appreciation Program. This program provides the opportunity to receive a special offer good toward the purchase or lease of any eligible new Ford Car, Truck and SUV through F-550 (excluding Mustang Shelby GT, Shelby GT 500, Harley and Hybrid Vehicles – other restrictions may apply).

General Motors

The GM Military Discount Program, offered for active duty members and reservists of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard, provides big savings on almost every new car, SUV, crossover and light-duty truck GM makes.

Toyota

When it comes to supporting our troops, most people want to do their part. At Toyota, that means offering all active duty military personnel a $500 rebate toward any new Toyota vehicle when financing is through a Toyota dealer and Toyota Financial Services.

Volvo Cars International

Military personnel stationed outside their home country can enjoy substantial benefits by purchasing a new customized Volvo under the Volvo Military Sales Program. Add up to three equipment packages and four single options to your favorite new Volvo (except metallic paint) and save 30 percent on the regular price of each.

The Military Sales program is one of the most comprehensive programs in the military market. Since the mid 1950s, the Military Sales organization, part of Volvo Car International Customer Sales, has sold hundreds of thousands of Volvos worldwide to the military community.

Our independent agents shop around to find you the best coverage.

Save on Rental Cars

Not only is your military ID or veterans service group membership good for obtaining you discounts on new cars, but several rental car companies also offer savings and military car deals.

Companies like Budget, Alamo and Avis car rentals offer discounts off the standard rates to their service member customers, and some even feature unlimited mileage, VIP rental returns and other perks to the soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines among their clients.

Third Party Organizations

Appreciation is also available to those needing more than a few hundred bucks off the listing price of a brand new vehicle. Nonprofit organizations such as the VetBuy Vehicle Discount Program partner with various dealerships across the country to offer military personnel even more incentives and discounts than the manufacturers themselves. Find out if any dealers in your area are participating members to ensure you will find the best military car deals possible.

Save on Parts, Repairs and Insurance

Many auto parts stores and mechanic groups offer discounts and savings to military personnel and veterans as well. Wheels Next, for example, offers a $40 discount for all wheel and tire packages.

A good mechanic is worth a thousand fair ones, but sometimes you hit the jackpot and find both in one. It never hurts to ask your neighborhood auto shop if they'll swap a discount on their service for yours.

Many insurance providers also offer discounts for military members and veterans alike. Be sure to ask your insurance agent if the company you choose offers any incentives for their military customers. It's always a good idea to compare several quotes for car insurance from a variety of providers to ensure you receive the best military deal possible.

You may be required to show proof of service, such as your 214 document or a veteran service group membership card. Be sure to have such proof ready when your insurance agent asks for it. Independent insurance agents of our network are always here to help service members, veterans and their families find the best military car insurance on the market.
