Our AIX Specialty Insurance Score

2 Stars

We award AIX Specialty Insurance Company a final rating of 2 out of 5 stars. AIX Specialty is backed by the well-regarded The Hanover Group. Both companies have been rated "A" (excellent) by AM Best. However, AIX Specialty is not individually rated or accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The Hanover, however, has a high BBB rating and is accredited.

AIX Holdings, an insurance holding company with executive offices in Windsor, Connecticut, was founded in 2005 by five insurance industry veterans in conjunction with Sterling Capital Partners. AIX Group was formed to fill a need in the underserved market of specialty program insurance business. The company was acquired by The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. in 2008. The Hanover is the holding company for several property and casualty insurance companies, which together constitute one of the largest insurance businesses in the United States.

The Hanover distributes its products through a select group of independent agents and brokers. AIX Specialty Insurance is a specialty property and casualty insurer that underwrites and manages program business, utilizing alternative risk transfer techniques. AIX Holdings has developed general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial property, and commercial auto liability programs for markets with specialty coverage or risk management needs.

AIX Specialty is not for every business owner. Only certain types of industries or business risks will need the coverage offered by the carrier. Further, AIX Specialty has virtually no online presence, making it difficult to find detailed information about its products or services. We recommend finding out more about the carrier with the help of an independent insurance agent before considering them to be your next trusted carrier.
