TAPCO Customer Reviews

Yelp
[. . .] I don't like to give bad reviews, but this is necessary. Even so, before I submitted this review, I tried calling back and asking for someone who "could provide some good customer service". I got *exactly* the same treatment: defensive, argumentative, talking over me and accusing me of yelling at him when I raised my voice to try to keep him from also interrupting me while I was trying to finish my sentence, except this time he hung up on *me*. Again, he didn't even look at the account notes to see the special treatment they were giving me (waived fees).

Yelp
They are dishonest company. Will sell you policy & upon receiving binder documents realize it's not what you paid for... Example, request coverage for $80k in inventory, & then read in documents cap for theft, an essential part of policy, is $2,500. They should have disclosed this sub-limit BEFORE binding policy. You call to cancel, they keep 25% minimum of your payment for nothing. Fraud of a company!

Yelp
Tapco used to be a great E&S broker. They were easy to work with, responsive and organized. Since ownership has changed, they've become rigidly bureaucratic, inflexible and a headache to do business with. There are other brokers who want to partner with agents--I recommend finding one.

Better Business Bureau
Absolute WORST customer service. Arrogant, Ignorant, unprofessional. The worst manners when customer service is needed. Management is useless.

Better Business Bureau
Just cancelled our policy with Tapco after recent fraudulent charges on my credit card and poor services of their staff. Tapco does not care about its clients that is evidenced by the way they communicate with me. The hold time for a phone call is long and automatically timed out after a few minutes of wait. I had to call back three times in order to speak with their billing department just to discuss payment option. Today I called again and went through the same wait time. When I told them that I want to cancel the policy due to the poor services, they said that I need to talk to our local agent to cancel. Tapco cannot cancel my policy directly even this is an option in their telephone directory. This company should not be in business anyway. They will destroy themselves.

TrustedChoice.com's Final Review

We award TAPCO Underwriters a final rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars. Though the insurance company has nearly four decades worth of experience under their belt, there's a concerning amount of negative feedback about them across multiple platforms. The insurance company is not rated through AM Best, and has a fairly low rating through the BBB.
