“CNA has always paid & has been good to my mother. However, their policy about overpayments is degrading. They will stop payment on a check, which is embarrassing & cost me a fee, rather than just issue a check for the difference or just send a statement explaining why there is no payment this month. But don't stop payment on a check! Not only is your customer charged a fee by the bank, but it can cause a domino effect, which causes other checks to bounce, when the overpayment wasn't your customer's fault! This is very poor business, CNA!! You can do better than this! I wouldn't be surprised if customers started filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau over this. I know, if it happens again to me & I am charged a bank fee again; through no fault of my own, I will take this to the BBB or the State Attorney General's office. Also, they really need to come up to the 21st century & have a website where policy holders can check their status without having to call every time.”
“I had CNA Insurance for my business. I keep paying for my expensive premiums and, when I get late, CNA Insurance places me on auto debit. CNA Insurance policy covers almost everything from kidnapping to accidents to property damage. I was hit by an SUV when I was delivering and everything in their policy turned opposite. CNA Insurance keeps denying coverage and I have to sue to get what is right. It's a scam. I'm a senior citizen, I have to file bankruptcy, lost my home, lost my business and disabled. DON’T GET CNA INSURANCE - JINX, OMEN, BAD FOR BUSINESS!!!!!”

“A friend of mine told me he got a great rate with CNA so I thought I would check them out. Not only did I get a great rate but my agent was really great and walked me through what I would and would not need and keep my premium reasonable. I have not had to make a claim yet but I am confident that will go well based on the way I have been treated so far. I looked into CNA and they are a pretty big company. I was surprised I had not seen commercials for them before. While you might not have heard of them I can tell you they have good rates and great customer service.”
“Having moved from another part of CA to San Fran, I was in need of a new insurance company. I did some searching, and after some looking around and some recommendations from co-workers, I came across CNA. I chose them because of their affordable price, and recommendations. The initial sign up process was pretty easy, I had a few initial bumps here and there, but I think that was due to an issue on my end not understanding some of the questions, and not having my paperwork in order. After about 6 months or so, I ended up getting into a fender-bender (welcome to San Francisco), and CNA was right there with me the whole way, and I had no problems getting everything solved. Overall I am quite satisfied with them as a company.”

“Same complaints as some of the above. I have faithfully paid my premiums for over 15 years or so. I didn't receive a statement and within apparently two days or so beyond the pay period, I was informed that my policy was canceled. Without any reminders, a grace period, or other. In asking for the policy to be reinstated, the customer service representative suggested this was easy to do since it was only a few days beyond the payment period and my first time ever missing a payment. Today I received paperwork about reinstating which calls for a new application and evidence of insurability - and suggests that "additional underwriting may be needed in the form of medical records or face to face assessment." To me, this is not reinstatement of a policy that extended up to the beginning of last month, this is applying for a new policy! Based on the other negative reviews of CNA I am feeling empowered to walk away.”'s Final Review
