“I drive a non-emergency medical transport. My vehicle has been hit by other vehicles five times in the last 20 years. Because Michigan is a no-fault State, my insurance has covered the damage. Here’s the kicker, although the other party was at fault, my insurance has gone up to a ridiculous rate. It was $3000.00 per vehicle when the business started. Now, it’s over $5,500.00 per vehicle. I hate that Michigan is a no-fault State!” —Vic Nicholls

“Don’t trust this insurance company. I had a business insurance policy with them. They continued to bill me even after my policy terminated and I sold the truck that was the subject of the policy. I called repeatedly to tell them the policy was cancelled and they denied it even though they had sent an official form K (notice of cancellation) to our regulator.” —mss363

“I signed up for a car insurance from the National Indemnity Company about two years ago and I couldn't find something to complain about ever since! I'm not a reckless driver, but, lately, a lot of minor accidents tend to happen around me. However, each and every time they acted in a professional manner and fully paid for the damages without making up excuses not to do so, like some insurance companies do. If I remember correctly, the application process took only a few days to be completed. Also, you won't find too much paperwork to do here, which was a great plus for me. Then, the customer service acted as if I was their boss, taking special care of all my concerns and giving me informative, detailed answers. It wouldn't be true to say that I have much experience with car insurance companies, but I can say without fear that the National Indemnity Company is one of the best.” —Harriett Fleming

“Have had National Indemnity for awhile now and have never had to use them till recently. We had an incident on our property where some damage was caused by a car to our fence outside. Called up National Indemnity and within a day I had a guy out here to give me an estimate. They got back to me quickly after that and set up the follow-up appointment for the fix. Took about two weeks after the estimate to get the guys out there but there work was top notch and National Indemnity was easy to work with throughout the whole process. Home Insurance is one of those things you hope you never really have to use but it’s so nice to have when you do need it. National Indemnity did not let me down and I highly recommend them.” —Fred Kabibil

“I bought a new car for my wife to commute to work. So the dealer suggested this company for getting the car insured. Initially I was a bit reluctant as I wanted to go with my old insurance company, but later thought that I will just get all the required information and only if I am satisfied will go ahead with the insurance. But to my surprise , when I met the agent and got all the information about the policy, I was quite surprised. The premium is also very reasonable and affordable. It was half the premium that I am paying now for the same cover. Secondly, they don't have any hidden charges and application process is very simple with little paper work. The customer service was also very kind to clear all my doubts. I am really happy with the service that I have got. Really awesome.” —Vishwa Abhilash

TrustedChoice.com's Final Review

We award National Indemnity Company a final rating of 2.8 out of 5 stars. National Indemnity Company has strong financial stability and offers dependable coverage to customers across the US. However, a number of customer complaints about the insurance company’s claim responses and the subpar website establishes that National Indemnity Company still has plenty of room to grow. The insurance company provides 24/7 claims reporting via phone, online, and online bill pay, yet they do not list their business hours on their official website. There also is not a whole lot of information about the insurance company’s coverage options, beyond basic information, on their official website. Nor is there a claims response time frame promise or an outline of their claims process located on their website. So our recommendation is that if you are looking for specialty business coverage, assess your other options for trusted insurance companies with your independent insurance agent, and maybe take a further look into National Indemnity Company.
